Insaaf Law Group has been working with various embassies and missions in Somalia in conducting background checks, investigating persons and verifying documents. Our team of lawyers are familiar with all the processes involved in verifying and ensuring that documents presented to the various embassies or missions are genuine and meet the requirements of the local laws. We conduct due diligence and background checks for International Organizations and companies. These checks include verification and confirmation of the physical existence of the companies, background checks on the Directors and actual business of the companies. We also assist our clients in obtaining of visas or work permits for foreigners, advice on foreign direct investment or doing business in Somalia.

Insaaf Law Group undertakes professional Legislative Monitoring. Our lawyers are assigned to monitor and cover proceedings in the Council of Ministers and Parliament– in both full house and committee levels – and make a report, which are then circulated via e-mail to our retained clients. Comprehensive weekly or monthly reports (as the clients may desire) are dispatched to the clients. This enables the clients to keep abreast of new legislative developments and their likely impact(s) on the activities of their organizations. Insaaf Law Group also works with organizations and government in proposing and drafting legislation. Our Islamic finance specialists have extensive experience in structuring, documenting and negotiating complex transactions and developing innovative Shari’ah-compliant techniques, including in relation to asset finance, bank finance, regulation, project finance, funds and other structures including Shari’ah compliant insurance. Insaaf Law Group also has longstanding relationships with the leading Shari’ah Scholars in Somalia who sit on the various Shari’ah boards of banks and other lending institutions active in Islamic finance within the country.

The active development of infrastructure projects across Somalia has lead us to develop a strong practice in Private Public Partnerships. Within our PPP practice Insaaf Law Group works with government, private sector and international organizations to develop legal frameworks to introduce PPP principles upon request of public institutions and governmental bodies. We advise public institutions and governmental bodies on developing the regional PPP policy and forming the institutional framework for the implementation of PPP projects.
